Did you know that a Saint Bernard can be grow to be up to 30 inches tall and 200 pounds? Wow, that is a big dog and a lot of dog food! Well-bred, trained Saint Bernards are gentle and affectionate, but unruly or disobedient ones could be dangerous however, if you socialize and teach them obedience, they are perfect companions! The shorthaired Saint Bernard has a short, dense coat; the longhaired is longer and slightly wavy. Usually their coat color is red and white and brindle with white markings. What’s amazing about Saint Bernards is that they have the ability to detect approaching avalanches…!
