Some Fun Facts:
It appears that Persian cats first arrived in Europe in the 16th Century. In Great Britain, each color type of the Persian is considered an individual breed and these breeds are no longer referred to as Persians but Longhairs. In the U.S., however, all are considered Persians of differing color types. The typical Persian is a substantial and strong cat with a full and flowing coat of long and dense fur. His head is large and round with small ears that are wide apart with large, round and clear eyes. Persian cats are usually even tempered and gentle and as kittens are quite playful and mischievous. They make very loving pets and tend to be quiet and restful in their homes. Their long and dense coat must be brushed and combed regularly to prevent tangles.
